The growing population also requires a seriuos effort to provide sufficient food at affordable prices. In facing these challenges, the indonesian Agency for Agricultural research and development [ IAARD ] strives to utilize all the resources to generate technological innovations, especially to support the four targets of teh ministry of agriculture, namely [ 1 ] self-sufficiency and sustainable self-sufficiency, [ 2 ] food deversification, [ 3 ] increasing value added, competitiveness and export, and [ 4 ] increasing welfare of fammers. Innovations generated have partially been utilized by users and some of them need to be promoted more widely.
