AHMAD HAIDIR IRSYAD, The Effect of Acration and a Variety of Growing Media on Growth and Yield of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in Wick Hydroponic System. Under Guidence by Sri Ritawati, Yayu Romdhonah, and Yudi Satro. The objective of the research was to know the effect of aeration and various types of growing media on growth and yield of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in wick hydroponic system. The experiment was conducted from March 2016 to May 2016 at BPTP Jakarta. The experiment used Randomize Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors and arranged in split-plot. The first factor was aeration (non aeration and with aeration), and the second factor was growing media (husk, rockwool, zeolit). The result showed that aeration gave the best results on plant height parameter (20.74 cm) at 5 weeks after planting, and number of leaves parameter (4.53 leaves) at 3 weeks after planting. Growing media treatment showed rockwool (19.15 cm) and zeolite (19.09 cm) gave the best results to plant height parameter 5 weeks after planting. The number of leaves parameter, zeolit (11.58 leaves) and rockwool (11.38 leaves) gave best result at 5 weeks after planting. While zeolit gave the best result to the plant fresh weight (41.62 g). There was an interaction between aeration and growing media in plant height and number of leaves parameter at 3 weeks after planting.
