ABSTRAK : A broth culture of B anthracis contaminated with Aspergillus (sp?) has been received from the department of bacteriology. In order to study has effect of the fungus of the virulences of B.anthracis a mixed culture was than kept at room temperature for two weeks and after than isolated. to test the pathogenicity two guiea pigs were inoculated subcutansouly sach with 0.5 ml of a 24 hour broth culture of B.anthracis from Purwakarta, Both of the guinea pigs remained alive after two weeks. it proved that the fungus has affacted the virulence of the anthrax bacilli into an a virulent strain. Pertaining the result obtained an experiment was performed to check the immunizing capacity of the strain concerned. A broth culture was infected into four gunea pigs, receiving a whols tube of 6 ml sach. On the 10 th day after inoculation one of the pigs was subjected to postmortem examination which showed a normal picture, whereas no bacilli were seen in the smears. Afte

On the 10 th day after inoculation one of the pigs was subjected to postmortem examination which showed a normal picture, whereas no bacilli were seen in the smears. After two weeks the survivors guinea pigs and three other ones as control, were infected with a full virulent strain at a test dose ofresp. 0.5 ml of a pure broth culture, 0,5 ml of a 1:100 dilution and 0,5 ml of a 1:10000 dilution. The results of the test were as follows: guinea pigs previoulsy inoculated with the a virulent strian died after 3 days, the control ones after 2 days. It seems that virulent Purwakarta anthrax strain grown in association with Aspergillus (sp?) looses virulence for guinea pigs, but dose not possess immunizing properties.
