Abstrak | Serological studies on Akabane virus infection were conducted using a serum neutralization test. The results indicated that the prevalence rate of reactor varied from 0% to 38% with an average 11% from 360 samples tested. A total of 309 insects were trapped and 10 species were identified in the location of study. These species included C. actoni, C. sutnatrae, C. peregrines, C. arakawae, C. paraluaneralis, C. films, C. geminus, C.arystoma and C. gudffer. The information from farmers indicated that two cattle have been aborted or stillbirth. A aerological testing indicated that two cattle of those had antibody against AKA virus. The result concluded that Akabane infection have occured in this area. |
