(CENTRAL Institute for Animal Health Bogor, Indonesia) /cUTOJO, R.P. c1962 aBOGOR VETERINARY BULLETIN .-- No.2 p.19-36.-- ABSTRAK : Proceding investigations surveyed the preventive action of isonicotinic acid hydrazide upon tuberculosis infection and concluded unanimously that the chemical in question is strongly active. In this examination it is attempted to make a survey upon the activity of isoniazide if applied simultaneously with the (artificial) infection, or after infection took place. The survey has been made on guinea pigs as well as on calves, which after artificial infection were submitted to a treatment scheduled according to the extant of intervals between infection and initial drug application. In this test has been proved the valuability of action of INH on guinea pigs and calves; they were protected against spreading of tuberculose processes in case the therapy began ten days after intramuscular infection and continues for at least two months so far it cencerns guineapigs and 45 days after intravenous infection and continues for at least 6 months so far it cencerns bovines. Similar investigation as to the more natural infection has not been done yet.
