Bacterial inventory on cases of chicken Yolk-sac infection examined at Research Institute for Veterinary Science. Penyakit Hewan 22 (40): 102-105. Avariety of bacteria causing infected yolk-sac of chickens was studied. Eighty one-day old chickens showing abnormal placenta and 15 healthy chickens as control were examined bacteriologically as well as 12 five-day old chickens with out control. Following bacterial examination a variety of bacteria were isolated from the infected yolk-sac of chickens. The examinations were conducted on 60 day old chickens and 12 chickens 5 days of age. Fifteen healths day old chickens were used as controls. The yolk sacmaterial wascultivated directly into solid andliquid media. Theorganisms recoveredwere identified as Escherichia coli, Proteusmirabilis,Pseudomonas sp., Enterobacter sp., Alcaligenes sp., Citrobacter sp., Klebsiella sp., Staphylococcus sp., Streptococcus sp., Micrococcussp. and Bacillus sp. No bacteria were isolated from the control chickens. Key words: Yolk-sac, chickens, bacteria.
