Summary (En) In the period between 1986-1987 Salmonella were isolated from rectal contects of fresh feces of apparently healthy cattle, buffaloes and pigs raised in farms in West Java and North Sumatera. Hajna tetrationate broth (Eike, Japan) and Selenite broth (Difco) were used for enrichment media. Malachite green agar (Eike, Japan) and Deoxycholate hydrogen sulfide lactose agar (Eiken, Japan) were used for selective media.Salmonella were isolated 18 out of 249 dairy cattle, 3 out of 77 beef cattle, 5 out of 14 buffaloes and 26 out of 236 pigs. The serovar of isolated were identified as Salmonella javiana (cattle), Salmonella java (cattle, pigs), Salmonella newport (cattle), Salmonella drypool (cattle,pigs), Salmonella dublin (buffaloes), Salmonella lexington (buffaloes, pigs), Salmonella weltevreden (pigs), Salmonella chincol (pigs), Salmonella london (pigs), Salmonella enteritidis (pigs), Salmonella agona (pigs) and Salmonella typhimurium (pigs).
